Devon is in my blood - born in Brixham, I have always felt a strong connection to the county and its heritage. My Grandfather's family farmed around Bovey Tracey and he later owned a dairy in Torbay where they counted Agatha Christie as one of their regular customers! Call me biased but I believe that Devon is the most beautiful part of England and I am passionate about using my photography to help promote all it has to offer.
Why Blackstone? Well, I have always loved photography and enjoy nothing more than spending time in our stunning landscape with my family and my camera. Back in 2013 I was in one of my favourite places, Start Bay; when I took a photo of Start Point and the Blackstone Reef that inspired me to take photography more seriously and with that, Blackstone Photo was born.
My preferred time of day to shoot is dawn - there really is something special about being alone on the moors or on a beach waiting for the sun to rise - knowing that you are one of the few people around to witness the world waking up. I shoot on a Cannon DSLR with lenses between 10 - 300mm, Lee Filters and the awesome Travis tripod from 3 Legged Thing.
I have been lucky enough to have my Devon photography used in a range of local publications and I am now working with Visit Devon supplying my work for use in their Devon image bank.
A range of cards and prints featuring y work is available from my etsy store or via the shop section on the main menu. I am keen to promote Devon wherever I can, so any local businesses who are interested in working with me, please get in touch.
